Design runs on your computer. It has no account, no sign-in, no telemetry and no update check. It listens on localhost, so other devices on your network cannot open it.
Your tasks, documents and images are saved in the data folder inside design-local, or in the folder you choose with --data. With Docker they are saved in a Docker volume on your computer.
Title suggestions from a local model are off by default. If you turn them on with DESIGN_LOCALAI_ENABLED=true, Design uses Ollama on your own computer; nothing is sent elsewhere.
Keep it. Move it. Delete it.
Settings → Export JSON saves everything in one file; Settings → Restore backup brings it back. Deleting the design-local folder (or the Docker volume) removes your work from this computer.
Design does not encrypt its data folder. Use your operating system’s disk encryption, such as FileVault, BitLocker or LUKS.
A small website footprint.
This website has no accounts, analytics or advertising trackers. It stores your appearance and language preferences in your browser.
Cloudflare hosts this site and may process connection information such as IP addresses and request logs to serve it.
Downloads open GitHub, which serves the files. Fonts and images are served from this site.
Public support payments are coming soon. Authorized previews use Stripe-hosted sandbox Checkout only; no real money is collected. Stripe handles payment details, and this website never receives card numbers. Cloudflare D1 stores transaction identifiers, USD amounts, statuses and timestamps for reconciliation. An essential temporary cookie protects payment-status access. Short-lived IP hashes limit API abuse; raw IPs are not stored in the ledger.
